In the Rheinau district of the city, a mechanized delivery base was put into operation by Deutsche Post DHL in 2015. Alongside the parcel centers, the so-called "MechZB" form a second important pillar of the Group's new parcel concept. The cross-docking principle there describes an inventory-free warehouse concept that merely acts as a transshipment point and makes delivery to customers even more efficient.
