The Mathildenschule was founded as early as 1905. Today, it is a primary school, a secondary school, a junior high school and a remedial school. The school was named after Grand Duchess Mathilde of Hesse. The school building, which has existed since the 1970s, is currently being expanded with a new building and the existing building is being renovated and modernized.
